I just caught this masterpiece and Ryan Gosling’s wardrobe was simply stunning. Smashing baddies teeth in is serious business, and you gotta look like you mean business. This getup is as badass as it gets.
Sunglasses
These 2-tone glasses designed by Selima Salaun, are the actual glasses worn by Gosling in the movie. It fits his strong jawline so perfectly that I hope you got one too if you are buying it.
Denim Jacket
Gosling wears a custom tailored vintage Levi’s denim jacket in the film and while he has 12 copies of the jacket for all the blood in the movie, you only need one. This slim fit trucker jacket from Levi’s will probably allow for some blood stains. Or lots of it.
Henley Shirt
It’s nearly impossible to find the deadstock white henleys that Gosling dons so perfectly, enhanced by the grease and dirt smears. You can, however, find a suitable replacement in this Homespun Knitwear short sleeve henley. Don’t forget to roll around in dirt for a bit.
Driving Gloves
I, for one, don’t have the money lying around to have a custom glove made by a LA glove-maker like they did for the movie, but this driving gloves from Wood’s of Shropshire isn’t too expensive.
Watch
This Philip Patek with a brown leather strap was chosen for the movie based on Gosling’s input. It turns out that the model used in the movie was actually a replica and not an actual one due to the dangers inherent in filming an action film. In the movie, he straps it to his wheel and gives his accomplices only five minutes before he drives off without them. With the Philip Patek Calatrava 5196G, here’s your chance to be more original than the original.
Jeans
He grabs the baddies by the neck as his skinnies is probably grabbing his balls. If you wanna be mean, you gotta be lean. And you can do so with these pair of Levi’s 511s.
Shoes
The exact pair on the man’s feet are the Stacy Adams The Madison. Don’t expect these cap-toed shoes to look like Ryan’s simply by buying it off the shelves. The ones in the movie were heavily sandblasted and acetone soaked to achieve the desired look.
