Tokyo Fashion wrote about the trend of batman inspired garb on Tokyo girls and suspected it might have been from a lingerie campaign by Harajuku-based shop Amerifeel.
As much as a Japanophile that I am, I’m not so much into the whole cutesy Japanese girl thing, but this particular photo of three girls drinking soda in their batman garb reminded me of everything I love about Tokyo. The carefree language of the street revealed through their expressions, their uncaring semi-gyaru attire in the form of stockings and batman pullovers, and even the slightly out of focus touch by the photographer makes for a familiar emotion to be put through a picture. Sure, it was a posed shot for ViVi magazine, but it’s a damn good one.
