I’ve decided to created a new section called “People I Meet” as a way of documenting people that have impacted me in one way or another, big or small. Since I’m currently in Japan, this category shall begin with my first Japanese friend, Junichi Okihara.
Just last year April, I was introduced to Junichi by my sister’s friend who came to stay at our place during her stopover in Japan. I bunked over at his place for three days on my first trip. His family has always been very gracious and welcoming to me, cooking me meals and taking care of me during my stays. He never fails brings me out to places around Tachikawa and introduces me to many of his friends.
Apart from being a staunch buddhist, this lucrative kouhai (junior) of mine does automotive auction sales and is an authorized agent of Softbank, so I know my mobile service will be settled when I decide to live in Japan. The aspiring musician handed me his indie album and announced that he just recently got signed on with a major record company. It would be great to have this kooky and friendly character as a housemate when he moves to central Tokyo in the near future.
Do show him some support by subscribing to his YouTube channel or take a look at his page here.
Making me breakfast
The ebi tempura he made for our breakfast.

He always insists that I take his bed when I stay over.
Preparing to perform at his buddhism meet later on.
