Bikkle

In the land of sweet-tooths and vending machines, I’m slowly getting addicted (and diabetes) to drinks found a little too easily all around. And the fact that they allow you to drink on the train and even in shops, doesn’t help my case. But my favourite drink has got to be Bikkle.

As a kid, I loved the Yakults that’s delivered regularly to my house. Similar to the taste of Yakult, Bikkle is a Japanese yogurt-based drink produced by Japanese drink giant Suntory. Most available in small bottles found in vending machines for 100-120 Yen and also at random convenience stores and supermarkets. “Big Bikkle” is also available in a larger 500ml plastic bottle, which is like drinking 10 bottles of Yakults at a go.

Most recently, Suntory produced a peach-flavor version of the drink which I’ve the chance to try. I’ve got to say I like this version the best. If you’re not coming to Japan for some time, you can try the drink, but probably not this version, at Meidi-ya, Lido.
