Style Bible Recommendation

Armed with a 50 dollar Kinokuniya voucher from the company and a well-deserved off day, I’ve went out and bought not one, but two bibles.

Take Ivy
In the late sixties, a forward thinking Japanese photographer traveled throughout the northeastern United States stopping at each of the Ivy League schools to document the style of the era. Originally published in Japan in 1965, set off an explosion of American “Ivy Style” fashion amongst the students of the Ginza shopping district in Tokyo. Take Ivy has been THE Ivy League Bible for the Japanese baby boomers, who were very much into the whole Ivy League look.

Icons of Men’s Style
Behind nearly every item in the modern male wardrobe is a ‘first of its kind’ – the definitive item and often the items in my The Need List are of that category. Icons of Men’s Style examines, garment by garment, the most important and famous of these products and definitely a book that will kill my paychecks.

Both books at available at Kinokuniya.
